AKERCOCKE Cancel Glasgow Show
March 18, 2006U.K. satanic death metallers AKERCOCKE have been forced to pull out of their previously announced March 23 appearance with VENOM and ONSLAUGHT at the Garage in Glasgow.
Commented vocalist/guitarist Jason Mendonca: "Due to circumstances beyond our control, it's logistically impossible for us to make the Glasgow show. We're really disappointed. Dave [Gray, drums] and Matt [Wilcock, guitar] had agreed to play two sets that night (one with AKERCOCKE and one with THE BERSERKER) which would have been a mammoth feat. Personally I was looking forward to delivering a tirade of Satanic violence before heading round the corner to be pummelled by Aussie distorto terror blasts.
"Our apologies to our fans in Glasgow but there really is no way we can make this date happen."
Upcoming AKERCOCKE shows:
May 13 - London, UK @ Underworld (w/ ONSLAUGHT)
Jun. 06 - Bournemouth, UK @ Opera House (w/ BLACK ELEMENT, JODA CEMA, MALIFICE)
AKERCOCKE released their fourth album, entitled "Words That Go Unspoken, Deeds That Go Undone", in October via Earache Records. The follow-up to 2003's "Choronzon" was recorded at the band's own Goat of Mendes studios in West London and was mixed by Neil Kernon (NEVERMORE, CANNIBAL CORPSE). "Words That Go Unspoken, Deeds That Go Undone" marks the recording debut with the group of new guitarist Matthew Wilcock, who replaced Paul Scanlan in 2005.
